Do I need to pass an exam?

Yes. The Namibia Estate Agents Board requires you to pass the NEAB exam personally, we cannot sit it for you. A South African real estate qualification is not recognised in Namibia, the exam must be written locally regardless of prior overseas experience.

What is a Fidelity Fund Certificate and why do I need one?

It is the certificate the Estate Agents Act 112 of 1976 requires before you may operate as an agent or claim commission. Operating or claiming commission without one is not simply inadvisable, it is unlawful.

How much does the certificate itself cost?

NEAB’s own fees are separate from our facilitation fee: roughly N$2,400 for a first issue if you join January to June, or N$1,650 July to December, with renewal around N$2,100 before 31 October or N$3,100 after. We handle the application process; the NEAB fee is paid directly to NEAB.

Can I operate under an existing agency instead of starting my own?
