NamBid Registration Namibia: How to Get on the Government Vendor Database
NamBid is Namibia's central procurement database. To bid on most government tenders you must be registered. This guide covers what NamBid is, who must register, the required documents, and how to apply.
What Is NamBid?
NamBid (Namibia Bid) is the Government of Namibia's centralised electronic procurement and vendor registration portal, managed by the Central Procurement Board of Namibia (CPBN). Most government ministries, agencies, and state-owned enterprises require suppliers to be NamBid-registered before they can participate in tenders.
Who Needs to Register on NamBid?
Any business that wants to supply goods, services, or works to the Namibian government — including local authorities, state-owned enterprises, and regional councils — must be registered on NamBid. This applies to both Namibian-registered companies and foreign entities.
Requirements Before You Apply
You must have these in place before starting your NamBid application:
- A registered business entity (Close Corporation or Private Company at BIPA).
- A valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) from NamRA.
- A Social Security Commission (SSC) registration number (if you have employees).
- A valid BIPA Good Standing Certificate.
- A NamRA Good Standing Certificate (Tax Clearance).
- Proof of a Namibian bank account.
Documents Required for NamBid Registration
- Certified copy of the company's certificate of incorporation or founding statement.
- Certified copies of ID documents for all directors or members.
- Proof of business address (lease agreement or utility bill).
- NamRA Good Standing Certificate (must be current).
- BIPA Good Standing Certificate (must be current).
- Bank letter confirming account details.
- Tax Clearance Certificate (from NamRA).
How Long Does NamBid Registration Take?
Once all documents are submitted, NamBid registration typically takes 5–15 working days. Incomplete applications are a common cause of delays.
